The history of ice cream on Anatolian territory dates approximately 300 years ago. Mixing the untouched snow that accumulates on the slopes of mountains and valleys, molasses and fruit extracts, the Anatolian people started to cool off with this extraordinary taste that they called “Karsambaç” during summer months. Although the initial purpose was to cool off, Karsambaç then became a tradition in the province of Kahramanmaraş.

The masters of taste from Kahramanmaraş then started to write a history with the gifts of the Mountain Ahir for the humankind that that made the ice cream of Kahramanmaraş by adding their efforts and patience too… The most significant milestones of this history were laid down by the creators of the unique taste of MADO that has been inherited from generation to generation.

The matchless flora and fauna of the Mountain Ahir surrounding the province Kahramanmaraş is the most important guide of ice cream masters of Kahramanmaraş. Karsambaç takes a sweet journey with the white snow cover of Mountain Ahir and colorful jewelry of fruits. And this sweet journey evolves, transforms but never finishes when it reaches the palate even today. It leaves an unforgettable taste in your mouth. The source of inspiration of Osman Aga, who was the first chef of Family Yaşar that started 150 years old Kahramanmaraş Ice Cream journey, was of course the Mountain Ahir with all its natural beauties.
